In May 2005, the government of Brazil released figures showing deforestation in the Amazon rainforest reached 10,088 square miles for the year ending August 2004. Deforestation in the Amazon in 2004 was the second worst ever as rain forest was cleared for cattle ranches and soy farms.

This image was acquired in May of 2000 by the Landsat ETM satellite. The image is located at 11.12.15 degrees S. latitude, 52.59.11 degrees W. longitude.

The print comes mounted on quality stretcher bars using a gallery style wrap (image wraps around the side) so that framing is optional.
